The homeowners of this Southside Place Houston home wanted a bathroom that would accommodate their aging-in-place needs, safety being a priority.
This project came to us right after its commencement. The previous contractor started and abandoned the job. The sheetrock was up but had to be removed, everything taken down to the studs due to obvious and hidden framing defects.
We incorporated aging-in-place modifications to ensure convenience, comfort and safety. The curb-less shower has double doors which open inward or outward. It was constructed so water will not remain outside the shower but will gravitate toward the drain. A “floating” shelf holds accessories and the homeowners remarked would be great to hold onto for balance when washing feet. We installed a drop in jacuzzi air jet tub with tub filler and handheld spray.
Small squares of porcelain flooring tiles resemble marble and are slip proof. The homeowners wanted classic tiles not “trendy” subway tiles. We carefully installed a decorative mural on the shower and tub walls so that pattern was exact.
